If evolution is true, should a human being worship or bow to anything?
Christians, Jews, and other Bible-believers are taught as the Psalmist to declare: “Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!”
The apostle Paul also related that he was called to preach unsearchable mysteries hidden in God who created all things. This led Paul to further proclaim: “For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and earth derives its name.”
Do evolutionists have a similar desire or duty? If so, on what basis?
Evolutionists believe God is not their maker; they believe human beings are merely the unplanned, unwanted, and uncared-for result of blind forces of nature. Not even a happy “ta-da!” comes from an impersonal universe that does not even know humans exist, and wouldn’t care if it did.
Try this for evolutionists: Oh come, let us adore matter and offer homage to nature’s forces; let us . . . genuflect a bit if we must to . . . to . . . to the Big Bang, our Maker.
For surely if evolution is true the Big Bang is our maker. What else is there? And the Big Bang’s senseless and purposeless spewing of matter means that nothing in the universe has greater or lesser value than anything else–all is equal and to none should any other bow or kneel.
Evolutionists should not bow or worship anything. All is purposeless and not even to be pitied. All just is.
But why in our innermost being do we have the sense that there is something greater than us? Why does our heart feel the draw to join in and also proclaim Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
Here is a certainty: if you believe evolution is true you should not be surprised that we fail to bow to your worldview. Why should we? If evolution created us to believe in God you should marvel with your own little “ta-da!” at evolution’s greatness to create something that does not believe in it.
In the meantime we will bow to the One who is greater by nature.
And, of course, in time we all will.
Think about it.
